Pass AB 1506

Pushed by the landlord lobby and signed by Governor Pete Wilson in 1995, the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act places significant limits on the ability of cities in California to implement rent control. Because of the law, housing that is affordable to seniors on a fixed-income, low-income families and working class Californians has become increasingly scarce, preventing local governments from adopting the rent control laws necessary to address California’s housing crisis.

Take action and encourage your state legislators to address our housing crisis by passing AB 1506 to repeal Costa-Hawkins.
